Join us or donate

The Trust relies on membership subscriptions, donations, grants and legacies to achieve our vision of a sustainable future for wildlife and people. Whether you support us by becoming a member or by making a donation, you will be surprised at the variety and extent of the work that you will be supporting!
You’ll be helping us to:
- Create and enhance havens for wildlife
- Stand up for wildlife and environment
- Reduce the ecological footprint of Wiltshire and Swindon
Becoming a member
By becoming a member you will make a vital and important contribution to the work of the Trust, helping us create a more sustainable future for wildlife and people in Wiltshire. We simply could not continue to conserve and restore wild places and protect the wildlife of our beautiful county without the support and commitment of our members. Our membership includes individuals, families, organisations, and companies - from small independent shops to large multi-nationals.
Corporate membership
The Trust has expanded its membership base to include companies of all sizes. We recognise in today’s business climate you need something back from us, and we cannot expect a one-way relationship of simply you giving to us. We therefore aim to customise your corporate membership to your needs and the actual benefits you want from us. We are looking to develop sustainable partnerships with companies. From your side this will include the financial and in-kind benefits you can provide to us. From our side we know we can give you something back in return to develop a real mutually beneficial relationship. Different companies want different things from us and we will always look to explore how we can help you in return for your support.
Making a donation
An online donation will take you just a few seconds and is completely secure. You can make a donation now using Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro, JCB, Solo or American Express.
Setting up a direct debit to make a regular donation helps us to plan our vital conservation work for the future. You can also make a regular donation by cheque, postal order or debit/credit card.
If you’re making a donation, think about filling in a Gift Aid Declaration – this will enable the Trust to claim back the tax on your donation at no extra cost to you.
Payroll Giving is a simple, tax effective way to make donations. Under this scheme, you specify a regular donation, which is deducted from your salary each month before tax. This means that a donation of £10 per month would actually cost you just £7.80 at the standard tax rate of 20 per cent.
A gift in your will
Many people, however much they want to, feel unable to make significant financial gifts to causes they support during their lifetime. Making a gift in your will enables you to do so. Once you have looked after your loved ones and friends, you can make that special gift to your favourite charity, and know it will make a real difference to a cause very dear to you. By remembering the Trust in your will, there will be a living memorial of your concern and care for the conservation of our beautiful county and the protection of its wildlife.
Sponsor a grazing animal
Sponsor a grazing animal and you can help support Wiltshire’s wildflower-rich grasslands and all of the associated wildlife that goes with them. For as little as £20 a year, you can contribute towards providing habitat for all kinds of creatures from the elusive Stone Curlew to the recently reintroduced Great Bustard to scarce butterfly species such as the Duke of Burgundy and many more.
From the dramatic chalk grassland escarpments to the traditional wildflower-rich meadows, both of these landscapes depend on grazing animals to maintain the balance between delicate wildflowers and coarser more vigorous grasses and shrubs. The Trust keeps its own cattle, sheep and ponies to manage these special sites.
Buy local beef and lamb
The Trust keeps its own cattle, sheep and ponies to manage our wildflower rich chalk grasslands and hay meadows. These grasslands depend on grazing to maintain the balance between delicate wildflowers and coarser more vigorous grasses and shrubs. The successful breeding programme of the Trust’s herds of Aberdeen Angus, Belted Galloway and Dexter cattle and flock of Herdwick sheep, results in surplus beef and lamb which is sold to contribute towards the costs of our grazing projects. Find out more about purchasing our local beef and lamb.
