We have created lots of new workshops which you will find along with our existing workshops under their particular Eco-Schools theme.

Workshops can be developed for particular topics – just ask. A few workshops can be carried out on the same day if required.

Waste minimisation

Using hand powered sewing machines, fabric remnants and a few other pieces of waste, each pupil can create a fantastic draught buster.

Meet the beasts that are responsible for making compost then use the finished product to plant seasonal produce or make a minibeast from scrap.

Junk Music
Using only waste materials, pupils create musical instruments and use them to compose rhythms or play along to the ‘jungle boogie’.

Paper Recycling
Learn about the paper recycling process and then get messy as children carry out the process and make their own piece of beautiful paper by hand.

Waste Wall Hanging
As a whole class, year group or school, make an amazing wall hanging for display from plastic bags and other small items of rubbish.

Find ways to reduce your lunch time waste by considering reducing packaging, recycling and composting – or even take the zero waste challenge!

School Grounds

NEW! Wonderful Wildlife
As a class undertake a survey to find out what wildlife you have in your grounds. Then create a wish list of ways to attract more wildlife. Follow this with one of the following activities:

  1. Decorate and plant five pots for your grounds with herbs or
      bulbs to attract insects.
  2. Build a 1m x 1m raised bed and plant with herbs or
      vegetable plants.
  3. Plant three trees or bushes that will help to attract insects
      and birds and create your own personal tree guards to
      protect them.

Please note this workshop is available in the autumn and spring term.

Ever wondered where the swallows go in the winter or how hedgehogs hibernate? Let us help you discover what autumnal activities are taking place in your grounds. Then pick an activity from the list below.

NEW! Spring into Action!
Enjoy the sights and sounds of spring as we explore your grounds to discover what wildlife is out and about. Then select one of the following options to encourage more wildlife into your grounds.
