School grounds
Unlock the potential of your school grounds
Autumn term is the time to dig and renovate ponds, plant trees, shrubs and bulbs, dig or build vegetable beds, create willow domes, arbours and tunnels, make bird boxes, bat roosts and insect hotels... the list is endless! We can help you with individual projects or whole school grounds design.
Some exciting ideas on ways to unlock the potential of your school grounds and create inspiring outdoor learning spaces:
- Develop a stimulating, literally buzzing, outdoor teaching/learning space.
- Plan a sensory garden – explore your five senses with the aid of nature.
- Plan a school grounds Family Action Day. At Harnham Infant School, Salisbury, children, teachers and parents cleared a woodland path, made ash pole tepees and grew ivy up them, made raised beds for vegetables, dug a fire pit inside their storytelling circle and planned a quiet seating area surrounded by native hedging to attract wildlife.
All our activities can be run with the help from pupils. We can help you develop your school grounds as a teaching resource – what could be more stimulating than learning directly from nature?
Price: A 1-2 hours consultation/advice session on how to improve your school grounds for wildlife starts from £50.
