Schools and Young People

The Environmental Learning team at the Trust would like all young people to be able to grow up in a diverse and sustainable world, and to be able to fully enjoy the world around them.
To help this to happen, we have various ways to support young people and help them to take an active role in school, in their leisure time, with their friends, and with their families.
Langford Lakes Education Centre and Lower Moor Farm Education Centre offer various educational programmes for Foundation, KS1, KS 2 and community groups at our two flagship reserves. All our programmes offer unique hands-on learning opportunities in a stunning setting packed with wildlife waiting to be explored.
The School Advice and Support Service offers schools direct, in-school support with their environmental education work. Whether you are working within the Sustainable Schools Agenda, working towards an Eco Schools Award, or simply want to make a difference in your school and local community, we can provide support in pupil committee meetings with environmental auditing and action planning, carrying out those actions and maintaining momentum. We can also offer a range of fun and informative assemblies and workshops, covering a wide variety of topics.

Watch Groups offer children the chance to experience a bat walk, go pond dipping, and create homes for wildlife or campaign to protect our environment? These are only a few of the exciting hands-on activities that happen at our local Wildlife Watch groups. Wildlife Watch is the junior branch of The Wildlife Trusts and is the UK’s leading club for young environmentalists interested in wildlife conservation. Across Wiltshire there are local Wildlife Watch groups where children can get stuck into nature exploration and discovery, games and practical activities with other young people. They are a fun way to get really close to nature.
