Dr Richard Aisbitt

Richard Aisbitt, WWT

Richard Aisbitt became involved with the Trust in 1982 as warden of Clouts Wood. He became a trustee in 2005 to support the Wiltshire and Swindon Biological Records Centre (WSBRC), and is also a member of the Trust’s Reserves Committee.

Richard is improving as a botanist, but still has a long way to go before becoming an expert! He became 'keeper of plant records' for the Wiltshire Botanical Society in 2001 and is now their Chairman.

He has also worked with Wiltshire Wildlife Conservation Volunteers since 1982, leading volunteers in Clouts Wood and other wildlife Reserves; he chairs this organisation as well.

Retirement in 2007 doesn’t seem to give him more time, but other interests include wildlife photography, a garden which is gradually gaining wild plants, and playing the violin.
